Team Jack Attack: Defeating Autism One Step at a Time

Amy's Page

This page is dedicated to Amy Ursitti, the best big sister and daughter in the world.Amy is seven has adjusted well to her new school in Massachusetts. She is a gifted student, full of laughter and life and is currently obsessed with Webkinz and American Girl dolls. She enjoys reading, reading, reading, is learning to speak Spanish, plays basketball and is a Brownie. (Yes, she will be contacting you soon to buy some cookies!)

She has taken the issues we've had with Jack in stride and loves him with all her heart. We are so proud of her every time she hugs and kisses Jack while usually getting no feedback from him whatsoever. She helps out in his home therapy sessions whenever she can and also volunteered as a peer model at Jack's school over the last two summers. This truly has given her a unique perspective most seven year-olds don't have.

Amy recruited her entire first grade class from Old Union Elementary in Southlake, Texas to join Team Jack Attack for the 2007 Dallas Fort Worth Walk Now for Autism.

Thanks to the Dallas Stars, Amy got to ride the Zamboni in honor of her little brother Jack at their Autism Awareness Day Game on Sunday March 11. Thanks to Stu Barnes of the Stars and Sam Levitt for all of their work in the Athletes Against Autism organzation. This was a day Miss Amy will never forget! Go Stars!!!
